The following tells you everything about our project “transnational apprenticeship” started for the first time in 2010. In August 2011, nine young people from Spain, the USA, Belgium, Norway and Great Britain took this first big career step and are now doing their apprenticeship for Industrial Electrician in our company.

At our enterprise, German and foreign apprentices have the possibility during their apprenticeship for Industrial Electrician to learn linguistically from each other and to acquire profound technical skills in order to lay the foundation for a successful professional career… you too can profit as of August 2012!

The apprenticeship at a glance…

Duration

The transnational apprenticeship will start on 01.08.2012. The apprenticeship will take 2 years and will end with passing the final examinations at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Profession

Industrial Electrician (industrial engineering) in the dual system

• Provision of practical skills at the headquarters in Parkstein and at international project sites
• Provision of theoretical skills at the vocational school

Tasks and training contents

• Wiring and equipping switch cabinets
• Measuring, analyzing and testing electrical systems
• Implementation of functional and safety tests
• Installation and commissioning of electrical systems
• Maintenance of systems

Vocational school

The vocational school is located in Weiden, approx. 10 km away from the company’s headquarters. There, you will learn the theoretical skills in the form of modular schooling (24 weeks total).

Language

You will learn German through intensive language training in the company. You can also improve your English skills by appropriate language teaching.

Examinations

There are two written examinations that must be successfully completed. The first exam is held at the beginning of the 2nd apprentice year and the final examination, at the end of the apprenticeship, is to be written in German at the responsible Chamber.

Prerequisites

• Completed school education
• Technical interest and understanding
• Technical skills
• High degree of flexibility and willingness to travel
• Good English skills (ideally also German skills)

Where the apprenticeship takes place…

The apprenticeship will take place mainly at our headquarters in Parkstein. Parkstein is located in the northern part of the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria (approx. 100 km northeast from Nuremberg).

Parkstein is a municipality with approx. 2500 inhabitants. Parkstein is especially famous for the conical shaped basalt formation which is probably the most beautiful in Europe. You can get additional information on the immediate surroundings of our headquarters here

What will be the next steps after you have submitted your complete application documents?

You will receive a short acknowledgement via email for you application. Then we will in-form you in due time on the further proceedings regarding your application (possibly preliminary talk on the phone, interview on site in the applicable country, invitation for an interview at our headquarters in Parkstein). Even in the case we could not consider your application, you will get a corresponding message from us at the end of the selection process (April 2012) at the latest.
